A 'distraught' family has appealed for thieves who stole their car to return his beloved dogs which were in the vehicle when it was taken.Robert Jones, 63, of Llanddulas, near Colwyn Bay, popped into his local newsagents on Tuesday, only to find his car missing when he came out again.
Long-haired dachshunds, called Whisper and Christal, had been sitting on the back parcel shelf, and had gone too.
Mr Jones said he had been awake all night worrying about the dogs.
"My wife and I are absolutely distraught," said Mr Jones, who is retired and has owned the dogs, who are brother and sister, for more than six years.
"We have been awake all night worrying. We can't get it into our heads why someone would do such a thing.
"They are like children to us, we miss them dearly."
"We don't care about the car, we just want the dogs back."
Mr Jones said the dogs were light tan in colouring and both were wearing collars.
Police have conducted house-to-house inquiries and want to trace two men in their 30s who were wearing anoraks and woolly hats.
