- Another blow to the tourist coming to Colwyn Bay, a boating lake needs maintenance and people to run it so let's shut it down and save some money, then let's stop people playing Pitch and Put Golf on safety grounds as some one MIGHT get hurt (after a hundred years of playing, that will save us maintaining the greens and cutting the grass, more savings!!, then they put the rent and rates up on everything to make some money, and put Dynasaur world out of business, we had three miniature trains around the park, steam train in the park, Wells Fargo on the prom and into the park and a steam train from the park to the pier on the prom, ALL GONE, not to mention the several Band stands, showman's stages, the holiday day chalet's, you can't park here, you can't park there and to make sure you don,t the Council have taken on a team of Traffic Wardens, who clearly pay their way.
Oh I almost forgot they have provided a really good skate park for our youth, can't think of anything else though, except they saved a whole lot of money then doubled our rates. - This was the first pier Pavilion which burnt down in 1922, the second pavilion burnt down in 1933 and the third and current pavilion is still their, but not for long if the Council have their way, they want to demolish t in favor of the new water sports centre (The Skip) which they have built 200 yards east of the pier, the Council are currently running a scare mongering campaign, trying to convince the public that the pier is unsafe by fencing it off and installing dangerous building signs all over it, even though they have had a structural survey on the pier, which came back saying the structure was sound, as one councilor said to me "Shot myself in the foot there".
