Three masked robbers in bank raid

Police are hunting three robbers who forced their way into a bank and forced staff to hand over cash.The raid happened just before 1820 GMT on Wednesday at the Abbey Bank on Penrhyn Road, Colwyn Bay, Conwy, as security guards were delivering cash. One of the guards was pushed to the ground and a cash container taken. Police said they believed the masked men then fled to a waiting black 4x4 car which was later found abandoned at Queens Drive, Colwyn Bay. The vehicle is now undergoing forensic examination. Officers said two security guards were believed to have sustained minor injuries and were treated for shock.North Wales Police are appealing for anyone who may have information on the robbery or witnessed the 4x4 vehicle being dumped at Queens Drive to contact them on 0845 6071002 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. |
