Drivers swerved to avoid objects hurled on A55 in Conwy
A court has heard how motorists on the A55 swerved in the dark to avoid obstacles being thrown by teenagers.
Magistrates in Llandudno, Conwy, heard how the offenders broke a wooden fence in Colwyn Bay, and hurled pieces 30ft (9m) onto the dual carriageway below.
Aaron Hall, 18, of Llandudno, and two youths aged 15 and 16, admitted causing a danger to road users and to causing £50 worth of damage to the fence.
Hall will be sentenced on 27 April and the youths on 3 May.
Magistrates were told the incident occurred at about 2100 GMT on 27 February, with drivers travelling at about 50mph (80km/h).
Police were alerted by a local resident who said she was "shocked, horrified and angry" to see the teenagers throwing planks on to the road.
A police officer arrived and told the offenders they could have killed someone, to which they replied: "Sorry, we didn't think, but we only threw them when the cars weren't there."
Magistrates adjourned sentence for pre-sentence reports.
