Colwyn Bay: Man charged with attempted murder over stabbing
Man to appear in Llandudno Magistrates Court following an incident at St Andrew's Road on Tuesday night
A man will appear in court later this morning charged with attempted murder following an incident late on Tuesday night.
Police were alerted after to St Andrews Road, Colwyn Bay after a 43-year-old man sustained knife wounds.
A North Wales Police spokesman said Eric James Harvey, 41, who is local to the area, was arrested a short time after the incident.
He was charged last night and will appear at Llandudno Magistrates Court today.
On Wednesday, the Daily Post reported that a police helicopter had been seen flying over St Andrew's Road on Tuesday night. Police later confirmed a man had been taken to hospital following a "domestic incident".
Senior Investigating Officer Det Chief Inspector Gareth Evans said "I would like to reassure the publicthat this is an isolated incident which did not occur in a public place. Crimes of this nature are extremely rare in our area.
"Despite charging an individual with attempt murder, our enquiries are still very much on going.
"I would like to appeal to anyone in the community who feels they have any information which may assist with these enquiries to contact Police on 101."
He added the 43-year-old victim remains in hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
