Colwyn Bay - Man found near A55 bridge fights for life


The man aged in his twenties is in hospital with life threatening injuries after being found near the Rainbow Bridge, Old Colwyn,

A man was found with life-threatening injuries near the A55's Rainbow Bridge, Old Colwyn
A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being found on the A55 near Old Colwyn.
Police were called to the scene where a man was seriously injured near the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday at 5.55am.
Paramedics also arrived and took the man, aged in his twenties, to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan.
He was later transferred to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire in Stoke with life threatening injuries.
The A55 carriageway was closed for a short time on Saturday morning and re-opened at 6.36am.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “Inquiries are still continuing into the circumstances of the incident however it is not believed to be suspicious at this time.”
A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said it received a call at 5.57am on Saturday, September 13, to reports a man had fallen onto the westbound carriageway of the A55 near Colwyn Bay.
She added: “We responded with crews in two emergency ambulances, and a man in his 20s with serious and potentially life-threatening injuries was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd.”
