Llandudno: Man spent night on roof
A man who spent seven hours on a roof top was left in his family's care – only to climb back up and spend the night outdoors
A man who held emergency crews at bay for seven-hour on top of a roof in Llandudno yesterday later climbed back on top of the house where he spent the night before being arrested this morning.
The male, who was threatening to harm himself, had gone on the roof of the property in King’s Road, Llandudno, about 10.20am yesterday morning.
He brought much of the suburban street to a standstill.
Emergency services, including police negotiators, were called to the scene and the man came down around 5.30pm where he was left in the care of his family.
However, shortly after, he again climbed up to the top of the property where he went on to spend the night.

When he eventually returned to the house at 7am today, he was immediately detained by officers.
The man did not make any threats towards members of the public or officers during the incident, North Wales Police confirmed.
Chief Superintendent Steve Williams said: “No criminal offences were disclosed and it was deemed proportionate and correct to allow the man to seek medical treatment.”
But after the man then spent that night on the roof, Supt Williams added: “The man was arrested this morning and is currently in police custody pending inquiries.
“We would like to thank the residents of King’s Road and the surrounding area for their patience and co-operation during this incident.”
