A55 closed near Colwyn Bay due to concerns for man on bridge

PART of the A55 near Colwyn Bay was closed after safety concerns were raised over a man on a bridge.
At 1am on Tuesday, August 12 North Wales Police received a report of a man on the Rainbow Bridge in Colwyn Bay, and the motorway was closed between Junction 22 at Old Colwyn and Junction 23 at Llanddulas.
A North Wales Police spokesperson said: “In the early hours of the morning we received a call with concerns for a man’s safety on the Rainbow Bridge.
“Motorists were advised on diversions and the incident lasted for 40 minutes while negotiators spoke to the man so the situation could be resolved safely.”
