£300-a-day heroin addict jailed
A woman who was "lively and vivacious" until she became addicted to heroin has been jailed for three years.Joanne Davies, 30, from Colwyn Bay, had a £300 a day habit, Caernarfon Crown Court was told.
She admitted possessing drugs with intent to supply after being found with heroin and crack cocaine after an under cover drugs operation in the town.
Defence barrister Gareth Roberts said there had been some coercion to sell drugs by her supplier who made threats.
The court heard that the drugs found had a value of more than £1,300.
'Threats'
Davies, who had nine GCSEs, got involved with the wrong crowd at 17, he told the court.
Mr Roberts said she had been "lively and vivacious" and from a law-abiding professional family.
But her parents, who had worked in further education, "never turned their backs on her".
Davies' car had also been set on fire and threats were made against her family.
Although she had been emaciated when arrested, Davies was now off drugs and had a job offer.
